teacher gifts

our family has been a part of the same wonderful preschool for the past three years.  each year i like to help put a nice gift together for the teachers.  since it's a small school we like to change it up from year to year.  in the past we've done flowers pot gift cards - similar to these! this year we decided to get our teachers ready for the beach!

we collected money from the parents in our class and had each child write his/her name on a flip flop or sun.  we filled sand buckets with beach towels, sunscreen, a magizine a lunch cooler and a gift card.  i simply glued the childrens names on wooden dowels and stuck them into the buckets.  a simple yet thoughtful gift for all of their hard work. 

why wait to say thanks?

teacher appreciation day comes way too late in the school year if you ask me :)  i'm thinking, if you have a super teacher- thank them every chance you get.  we are so blessed this year with a wonderful kindergarten teacher for jack.  he loves going to school and i credit that to her. 

he's had a tough time with fire drills.   they scare him.  i think he believes there may be a real fire lurking around or possibly it's the LOUD annoying bell that gets him- either way he hates them.  his super sweet teacher has calmed his fears.  last two fire drills she has calmly held his hand led all of her students to "safety" and most importantly calmed his heart.  that to me deserves a thank you!

your thank you can simply be a note!  today we're bringing in a bouquet of pencils with a Starbucks gift card.
 nothing says thanks like a pumpkin spiced latte right?

end of year teacher gifts

it's that time of year again to thank the wonderful teachers for a great school year.  last year a friend and i created these for our preschool teachers.  i wanted to use the same concept but change it up a bit these special ladies.  i asked the other parents to donate gift cards to the teachers along with having their child write his/her name on a circle. 

you'll need gift cards, notes, wooden dowels, glue gun and a bucket

i love the way preschool children write :)

i added little summer cut outs, you could also just use stickers if you'd like!

glue the gift card to the dowel.

each child has his/her own "stick"

you'll need something to hold your sticks into place.  sand would work perfectly......but i just had rice at my house.

arrange the gift cards as you'd like...

in order to get my ribbon to stick, i used a little hot glue on the back

i also used a dot of hot glue under the bow to hold the front in place

here they are all finished and ready for graduation! 



and there he is......all ready for kindergarten!
