tonya's little bookworm

a few months ago i told you about my friend tonya.  she and i talked yesterday about her little boy nolen and the plans she had made for his birthday party.  this girl is something- she made the most adorable invitations and has planned such a special day for her little guy.  i was so grateful when she said i could make a few things to add to his party.  you know i'm a girl who loves birthdays!

they are having a bookworm party!  nolen was born prematurely and spent the first two months of his life in the NICU.   she has asked the guests to bring a book in his honor to be donated to the children's hospital where he was given such good care.  how wonderful is that?  my niece and nephew spent their first few weeks in the same NICU seven years ago.

tonya is setting up a craft station where this kids will make their own bookmarks.

each child will create a book tag for their donated book.

i tried to make the banner match the caterpillar she had on the invitation.

books are the only logical choice for a favor at a bookworm party! 

ok, so while the school supplies are out and inexpensive- grab them for your fall/winter party favors! 
kids LOVE to color year round.

another great favor/prize- sidewalk chalk.  now that the summer is coming to an end you can find it at great prices!

i know i've told all of you in charlotte about the BEST cookies ever- (here).  well, anne of sweet lala's is also sending over some worm cookies for the festivities!  thank you anne.
